Common questions
Which areas does the app cover?
Wisconsin statewide. Coverage is deepest around Milwaukee, Waukesha and Ozaukee counties and Madison, and reaches cities across the rest of the state, with off-market parcel records from all 72 counties. Federal GSA property auctions from elsewhere in the country also appear, though only a handful are listed at any one time. If a market you work in is thin, email us — coverage requests shape what we add next.
Where does the data come from, and how current is it?
Listings and auction records are gathered from public and published sources and refreshed continuously. Each property keeps a history, so you can see when a price changed or an item came back on the market. Always confirm the details with the broker, the seller, or the county before you act on them.
What is the Deal Score?
A 0–100 estimate of how a property compares with others on the measures the app can see, with the reasoning shown next to it. It is a starting point for your own analysis, not a valuation, an appraisal, or investment advice.
I’m not getting push alerts
Check two places. In the app, open Settings and turn on Push notifications under Alerts. On your iPhone, open Settings → FHBuildingSearch → Notifications and make sure they are allowed. Alerts fire when a saved search matches something new or a watched property changes.
Email alerts and the daily digest
Both are in the app under Settings → Alerts. Email alerts go to the address you enter there, which does not have to be the one tied to your Apple account. If messages aren’t arriving, check your spam folder first, then email us.
Drive-by mode isn’t notifying me
Drive-by mode tells you when you come within about 500 metres of a property you saved. Because it keeps watching while the app is closed, iOS requires Always location access: Settings → FHBuildingSearch → Location → Always. With “While Using” selected, it cannot notify you.
What does signing in with Apple do?
Signing in links your favorites, saved searches, alerts, and off-market watchlist to your account so they follow you to another device. You can browse and search without signing in; the syncing is what an account adds.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. That permanently removes your account along with your saved searches, alerts, and favorites from our servers, and it cannot be undone. If you can’t reach that screen, email us and we’ll handle it for you.
What happens to my data?
The privacy policy covers what the app stores and why. We don’t sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
